Penny W 23 Report post Posted December 20, 2015 I have a cfw cock bird with good flank markings but very pale (almost peach coloured) cheeks. Is this a 'fault' or is it some different mutation??
amf1975 132 Report post Posted December 21, 2015 it's a show fault... I have one just the same he has good flanks/chest bar and lovely head and is an almost perfect D shape but his cheek patches are week. I am puting him down with a nice long hen with very dark tear marks to see if it helps with the cheek patches in the chicks..... I also think you can get a European CFW that does have lighter check patches.... I am sure someone on here with more experience then us two will be able to shed some light as I think the European type bird is lighter all over
Penny W 23 Report post Posted December 21, 2015 I have a continental CFW hen and that is who he is paired with - they have 6 eggs - lets see what happens!
Andyn 534 Report post Posted December 22, 2015 Penny, Does the continental CFW hen have red eyes? If any of the chicks turn out to be continental you will notice the eyes straight away. (same as Inos in Budgies) This also happened to me in my very first year of breeding Zebbies. Keep us posted on this please. Andyn
