elf88x 2 Report post Posted May 14, 2015 Thought I would share some pics of my first chick, I wasn't expecting a bc so I'm guessing the parents must be split? He/she is lovely and quite tame, loves head rubs and happy to be handled :)Thought I was going to lose him at 1 1/2 weeks old as the parents stopped feeding so I hand fed but after 2 days they started feeding again and chick is now fledged and almost 4 weeks old

Emmy 528 Report post Posted May 15, 2015 That is one very lucky gorgeous chick. Mum looks to be a BC. Isn't it great when at one point you think you're going to lose the chick then with a little intervention everything works out. My first BC chick came from a pair of normals I had bred ( I'd never ever had any BC in my aviary) - so those normals both must have been split for BC. I bought some BC at Stafford and they have just hatched out chicks 4of the chicks are BC the 5th one a surprise not BC and almost cream in colour Emmy
