Ozzy747 25 Report post Posted September 11, 2014 Hi Just thought I would share what is effectively my first full BC Fawn birds. The Hen is a decent size and has a good strong BC. The cock I am not 100% sure of yet. It is not as 'fawny' looking as the hen so I am wondering if LB could be involved. Aviary bred so parentage not 100% sure. Suspected parents are a normal grey cock and fawn/BC hen. If parents are correct then the grey cock is split bc and fawn but its well hidden!
Clare L 175 Report post Posted September 11, 2014 Hi Scott, Nice looking BC Fawns Have bred a fair few of these myself this year. Nice cheek patch on the hen it can be quite hard to get such a well marked cheek patch on a Fawn BC Hen. Something I have noticed with this colour is that the fawn seems to be reduced, so it looks a bit like LB, but the is no LB involved in any of mine, so I think it is a trait of this mutation, this is just my own findings though and without knowing the birds history hard to tell, but with LB the area from the breast bar to the vent will be very white, which is usually a very good indication that LB is involved Good luck with them Clare
