Bc Fawn Update

Recommended Posts

What I thought was as BC Fawn is indeed a BC Fawn Cock.

He has started to colour up now taking his time about it ;) , pic below

Still a way to go yet with colouring up.

The flank markings are starting to come through they are showing a dark brown rather than the usual chestnut.

This is a first with this colour for me, cann't wait to see the full colour :D

Hi claire,

Lovely looking bird, but from the picture it looks like a bc fawn female to me. Do you have any close ups? I may be wrong.:-D

Hi Chris,

He' definitly a cock, sadly if I get to close he flies off.

Have attached another pic you should be be able to see the breast bar comming through.

This has been quite a surprise for me this year, I'm really looking forward to when he is coloured up fully, its taking a long time ;)

Hi Terry,

Your Youngsters look great.

This is my first BC Fawn, I knew one of the parents carried BC but not the other.

So this was quite a surprise for me.

He's colouring up nicely but will be a couple more weeks yet.

Not quite sure what to pair with yet, but I have bred a fawn/BC hen this year thats unrelated so could be a good match for him.

Will post pics once he has coloured up fully for you to compare.

Clare
